Search (coming soon)
A searchable directory of trademark examining attorneys is in progress. USPTO does not publish a public phone-book roster of examining attorneys — names appear on individual applications and registrations. Until our search UX is live, use the official path below (or the full how-to guide).
Look up by serial or registration number
Enter your number in TSDR → Status, and note the trademark examining attorney / law office fields (UI labels vary). Or open the same file in Trademark Search detail.
Examining attorney vs attorney of record
Trademark examining attorney
A USPTO employee who examines your trademark application for registrability. You find them on your application or registration record — typically TSDR Status — not in a public phone book.
Attorney of record (your counsel)
The practitioner representing the applicant. In Trademark Search, field tags like
AT:"Name" often mean attorney of record — not the
examining attorney. Do not confuse the two.
Law office / managing attorney
If an examining attorney is unavailable, USPTO guidance often points to law-office managing or senior attorney contacts associated with that office.

FAQ
How do I find my trademark examining attorney?
Use your serial or registration number in TSDR Status (or Trademark Search detail) and note the examining attorney / law office fields. See our how-to guide.
Why isn’t there a full public directory?
USPTO surfaces examining attorneys on the individual case file, not as a public phone-book roster. Our planned search UX will help when data pipelines are ready — until then, TSDR is the authoritative path.
Is the attorney on the form the examining attorney?
Often that field is the applicant’s counsel (attorney of record). Check TSDR TM
Attorney / law office labels carefully. In Trademark Search, AT: is
typically attorney of record.
Is this the patent examiner site?
No. This site is for trademark examining attorneys. For patent examiners, use findapatentexaminer.com.
